Alger Launches Swiss Service to Support Complex Parts and New Materials

Alger Precision Machining is expanding its capabilities with the launch of a new CNC Swiss department — delivering complex, tight-tolerance parts in more materials than ever before. With this strategic investment, Alger brings Swiss-type machining to its 66-year legacy of precision, dependability, and customer-first service.

This launch means current Alger customers now have a trusted partner for smaller, more complex parts — without needing to onboard a new vendor. For Alger’s team, it marks an exciting chapter in offering even more solutions to help OEMs move from concept to delivery with ease.

Swiss Equipment Lineup: Alger has added seven Citizen Swiss-type lathes to meet a range of complex manufacturing needs:

  • L32-XII: High-flexibility, 9-axis configuration ideal for long, complex parts
  • L12-1M7: Designed for ultra-small-diameter precision components
  • L20-XII: Versatile, compact powerhouse for high-speed production
  • A20-3F7: Balanced for performance and simplicity on intricate jobs

Together, these machines provide Alger with a rare blend of precision and scale, allowing the company to take on new types of work while maintaining its well-known scheduling flexibility.

Most Swiss shops are small and specialized. We’re offering something different — precision capabilities backed by the delivery reliability, service infrastructure, and inventory support that OEMs need to keep production moving,” said Harry Smith, President/COO at Alger.

What This Means for Customers: Alger’s new Swiss department is designed to help customers tackle:

  • Parts with tighter tolerances and smaller diameters
  • Aerospace and defense components requiring exacting standards
  • Complex geometries and multi-operation jobs
  • Ongoing production with delivery scheduling and inventory support

With more than 75 million parts shipped last year and two large facilities in Ontario, California, Alger offers deep experience and the infrastructure to support customers at scale. Now, with CNC Swiss capabilities in-house, the company brings even more precision and flexibility to every part they deliver.
